Admissions – RN to BSN

Admissions Procedure:

  1. Submit “Contact Us” request on the right or call for an application.  Review all requirements listed on the Application for Admission.
  2. Review all prerequisites below.
  3. Submit an application for admission.
  4. Submit an application fee of $50.00.  You will be entitled to a refund if you cancel your application in writing in five (5) business days after paying for the application fee.
  5. Submit high school diploma or its equivalency.
  6. Submit Transfer Credit Evaluation Form
  7. Submit official college transcripts, in person, in an envelope sealed by the school officials.  The Admissions Department will review credits to determine your eligibility for transfer.
  8. Once the required documentation is completed and you have been accepted into the program, you will receive an acceptance letter.

After the applicant has received the acceptance letter, the applicant must:

  1. Pay $75 registration fee in order to be registered for classes.   Failure to pay registration fee may result in applicant’s place being taken by another applicant.  This fee is not refundable.
  2. Attend the mandatory scheduled orientation session.
  3. Sign an enrollment agreement.
  4. Sign a disclosure form.

Admission requirements:

  1. Graduation from an accredited college, university or school with an Associate Degree or diploma in Nursing
  2. A minimum 2.5/4.0 overall GPA with a minimum of a 3.0/4.0 GPA in nursing courses based on previous nursing degree
  3. RN License in good standing with the Ohio Board of Nursing
  4. General Education Prerequisites:
    • 6 credit hours of English – written and oral communication: writing, communication, public speaking, information literacy
    • 3 credit hours of College Math – college algebra, mathematics in every day life, precalculus and calculus
    • 7 credit hours of Arts/Humanities – visual and performing arts, culture, history of the US, Ethics
    • 9 credit hours in Social/Behavioral Sciences including Human Growth & Development Across the Lifespan – or evidence of the equivalence of this course (3 cr hrs), Psychology (3 cr hrs), Sociology (3 cr hrs)
    • 14 credit hours of science which must include anatomy & physiology with lab (8 cr hrs), chemistry (3 cr hrs) and microbiology (3 cr hrs)
  5. ATS ADN program graduates will receive full credits for their ADN nursing Courses
  6. Graduates of other nursing programs must have the following:
    • 45 credit hours in nursing acquired in ADN or Diploma in Nursing program that includes the following nursing courses or evidence of the equivalence of these course:
      • Fundamentals of Nursing
      • Adult Medical/Surgical Nursing
      • Nursing Care of Children Nursing Care of the Childbearing Family
      • Mental Health Nursing
      • Physical Assessment – or evidence of the equivalence of this course
      • Pharmacology – or as part of another course
